Bellamy's Reserve Rum is a brand of the German company Perola. It is a nine-year-old rum from British Guyana, distilled at the Diamond distillery in 2012 and bottled in 2022 at 50% ABV. A total of 1500 bottles were filled.
Bottle: Really nice with a narrow neck
Colour: Mahogany
Nose: I smelled mainly wood and bitter cocoa. It was a typical aroma of Guyanese rums. I could also detect tobacco, caramel and bitter orange.
Taste: What I smelled in the aroma could also be detected on the palate. The rum is a little bitter, but not unpleasant. I would say a little more than tested Rum Nation 2005 Diamond.
Finish: Long.
Conclusion: Good Guyana, but I haven't found my way to these rums yet.
