Lovely pale gold natural colour, smells of banana. Lots of flavours in the mouth with a slight burn, delicious.
Nose 6/10
Mouth 7/10
Finish 6/10
Price value ratio 6/10
I think I rated this too low the first time around. It is actually a pretty decent jamaican rum, not super funky, a good entry jamaican.
Like a bowl of fruit. Packed with citrus and sugar. Very nice but slightly overwhelming
On the nose: Mild, tropical fruits, banana, pineapple and some sugar cane, some rubber, cotton candy / powdered sugar, some baked banana with honey.
On the palate: tropical fruits, grilled banana, pineapple, molasses, spices, sweet, then a little bit tart.
In the finish: spices, oak, first sweet, then a little bit tart with little tannins, some dark chocolate.
In der Nase: Mild, tropische Früchte, Banane, Ananas und etwas Zuckerrohr, etwas Gummi, Zuckerwatte / Puderzucker, etwas gebackene Banane mit Honig. Am Gaumen: tropische Früchte, gegrillte Banane, Ananas, Melasse, Gewürze, süß, dann etwas herber werdend. Am Gaumen: Gewürze, Eiche, erst süß, dann etwas herb mit wenig Tanninen, etwas dunkle Schokolade.
This is a Rhum in its purest expression, without addition, only filtering, which make you appreciate his honest taste, smooth but not too sweet, with many flavours for a pleasant moment.
Some oak and woody notes, quite a lot of spice.
"Pretty smooth initially with some considerable heat coming through on the palate which gives way quickly to a pretty short finish."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I find this pretty one dimensional.
For me the nose is the best bit. A pleasant subtle amalgam of acetone, varnish and banana.
The taste though is all banana. Not strong, with a subtle burn, a touch of oak and just a little sweet.
The finish is short, leaving a bit of banana overlaying distinct dryness.
Overall, I find it too simple. If I just want funk, I would rather drink Smith and Cross - it has more richness and a longer finish. For a simple supper, I'd rather drink Mount Gay Eclipse.
