Koloa Single Barrel Kaua'i Reserve 5-Year

Either #1 or a close #2 of all the sipping rums I’ve tasted. We visited the Koloa distillery on Kauai last summer and I tasted a number of their rums. When they saw I was serious about purchasing a $117 of their Reserve 5-year, they pulled out a higher 121.20 Proof bottle for me to ship home.

Comes across a little hotter than it should, even for a 55%

The best of the brand (so far).  Nice oaky flavor with a bit of a burn at the end. Enjoyed straight and mixed. Somewhere between a 5.5 and a 6 out of 10.
