Captain Morgan Spiced Rum is made by combining yeasts, molasses, water and mash, which are then distilled in a continuous still. The rum is aged for up to 1 year followed by the addition of spices and flavors indigenous to the Caribbean Islands.
Captain Morgan Spiced is owned by Diageo and produced in Puerto Rico by the famous Destilieria Serralles, Inc. The company Captain Morgan is named after the 17th-century Welsh privateer of the Caribbean, Sir Henry Morgan was an admiral in the Royal British Navy who earned a knighthood in 1674.

Nothing special but far way from being the worst spiced rum on the market.
Itβs been years since Iβve had the Original Captain Spiced and itβs actually better than I remembered. Of course I always drank it in coke at a bar, but itβs ok on its own. The nose has some caramel, Vanilla, and a hint of spice. The mouth is a mix between spice and sweet with vanilla dried fruits and caramel. Some say it will do in a pinch, I say it will do anytime. Itβs not a high priced Rum, Iβve had others in this range that were better, but itβs not bad and you drink what you like.
Not a bad rum but nothing special. Only to be used as a mixer.
That definition of a 5 rating on this site is PERFECT for this. It is easy to consume, especially as a mixer. Even straight it doesn't suck. The limited spice is ok. Has a little vanilla going on. Tastes sweetened. Very thin. You would have to be in a bind to sip this but you could if necessary/. As my learned drinking buddy Phil says "I hate no rum"!
I can not sip this rum. But I love it in a rum and coke
The typical pub drink that you have when are a teenager. Even Kraken is better (and I don't like that either). Just avoid it.
For the price it's not too bad, a little rough and ready but easily drinkable.
Spiced rums are some of my favorite rums. While the Captain is far from my favorite spiced rum it is always my go to when drinking at a restaurant or bar. Why, because everyone has it. I do prefer it over Sailor Jerry when there is a choice. Always enjoy with the mixer of your choice.
Too much vanilla. Not my cup of tea. Its sworn me off spiced rums.
The perfect wingman for coke

Think people can be a bit snobby about this due to the name on the label. It is a fair rum without knocking your socks off, particularly given its price. It is more for mixing but does that job well.
