If you like turpentine, or 5000 spices in one mouthful, then you'll love this! I honestly don't know what they were thinking when they made this. Also one of those stomach agitating alcohols. You'll have a better night with something cheaper. The only glimmer of hope is that it's not as bad as 5 0' clock vodka. And if you dilute it enough in something it can be drinkable i guess. Gave it a three instead of a two because I know this brand can make good rum (Although this is not one of them),some people actually like extremely pungent horrible alcohols, and it's not as bad as gasoline...but almost..

This is the only rum that I couldn't even finish a rum and coke with it in it. It smell like turpentine and doesn't taste much better. This is the worst captain that I've had and can in no way recommend this to anyone.

Very bitter cocoa first taste, followed by a smooth, nutty finish. Wouldn't advise for a sipping rum under any circumstance. A splash of Coke lessens the harshness of the forefront, and accents heavy vanilla undertones.

Smaakt te scherp, gemixt met cola vind ik het ook niets. Al met al geen sucses

Used to drink this all the time with diet coke because it was the only dark rum available in my local bars. Now some bars have Havana 3 which I much prefer to drink.

A base mixer for Cuba libre, everyone knows it, I hope not many drinks it neat :) I remember it from some trips with friends, inexperienced rum drinker will buy this or white havana, maybe yellow one. I recommend Havana over Captain.

It used to be my rum and coke-rum, but the almost candy-like flavor doesn't sit well with me anymore.
Not a fantastic rum, but easily useable in mixed drinks for parties of the kind when the time you spend to get from sober to drunk is preferably kept to a minimum, yet still somewhat tasty..
