Plantation Original Dark Trinidad

Easier drinking and quality rum for sipping. Recommended for this price.

It tastes like "dark rum", but nothing else to me. It's not bad, some oak notes in there. Works fairly well with some ginger beer, but mostly tastes like dark rum and ginger beer.

This rum has an unusual nose; strong esters, mostly banana. Jamaican funk shines through. A little burn on lips and tongue. OK sipper on ice, but better as mixer. Decent for under $20.
My bottle looks different than the one used for other reviews, similar to their Pineapple rum.

Little strong smell. Taste strange sharp for me. I think good for drinks.

For me it is the Best chep Dark rum, that you can find in supermarket.

Nice mixing rum quite a bit of depth for entry level selection. Try it with ginger beer or pineapple juice.

Fľaša a etiketa je vizuálne vydarená a aj korkový uzáver je plusom. Vôňa je hrozienková. Chuť je polosladká (skôr sladšia). Cítiť vanilku, korenie, zázvor, jemnú zadymenosť. Záver je hrejivý, korenistý a alkoholový (až "surový"). Trošku sa obavám, že pri celovečernom pití by bol bolehlav. Kúpil som fľašu za 13€, určite stojí za vyskúšanie. V tejto cenovej hladine je určite nadpriemerný.

Ripe banana smell, banana and other ripe fruits are present in the body too, the unaged alcohol is partially masked by added demerrara sugar, but it still bites, and there is some unpleasant feeling on the tongue instead of an aftertaste, which stopped from trying to sip it. Simple mixer, not too bad for the money.

The special thing about Plantation Original Dark is that it is versatile and affordable. Just a little bit of funk to go with the pineapple and banana on the aroma. Good mixed, neat, or over ice.
