El Dorado Special Reserve Bourbon and Cognac Cask Finish 18-Year

Great smooth 18 yr old rum. I enjoy demerara rum and this one delivers with a spicy, peppery finish where you can taste the fruity leather of the bourbon barrel. The cognac mellows the spicy overtones and delivers a unique and refreshing rum. I would have made it an eight, but you know, the price is a bit up there. Well done El Dorado... I hope they keep experimenting with further barrel finishes.

Gave it a 5 because it is El Dorado. But a little disappointed. Bitter finish!
