The Rum Club Edition 33 comes from Fiji from the South Pacific distillery. The rum was made in pot style in 2009 and was allowed to store for 13 years. He carries the Mark FSDP. The rum was bottled at a cask strength of 60.4% alcohol without additives or filtration as a single cask in 302 50cl bottles.
The nose is awesome. Lots of tropical fruit, solvent and glue. In addition, some spice, a sweetness reminiscent of syrup and an artificial note. The whole thing is accompanied by sour lemon zest. A lot is happening here. On the palate, the rum is surprisingly dry with lots of wood and spice. But also candied tropical fruit and varnish. The rum has a mineral note with roasted aromas. The whole thing is strong with an oily texture. On the finish, the rum remains super dry, astringent, with lots of wood, bitter substances, a hint of menthol and an artificial and mineral, earthy note that lingers for a long time.
An excellent rum and great Fiji. It is surprisingly dry and has a lot of spice. But it doesn't get too peppery. I'm curious how he will do against the Fiji competition in a direct comparison. Value for money is definitely right.

Die Nase ist schon genial. Viel tropische Frucht, Lösungsmittel und Klebstoff. Dazu etwas Würze, ein Süße die an Sirup erinnert und eine künstliche Note. Das ganze wird untermalt durch saure Zitronenschale. HIer passiert einiges. Am Gaumen ist der Rum dann erstaunlich trocken mit viel Holz und Würze. Aber auch kandierte tropische Frucht und Lack. Der Rum hat eine mineralische Note mit Röstaromen. Das ganze ist kräftig mit öliger Textur. Zum Abgang bleibt der Rum super trocken, adstringend, mit viel Holz, Bitterstoffen, einem Hauch Menthol und einer künstlichen und mineralisch, erdigen Note, welche lange anhält.
Ein ausgezeichneter Rum und toller Fiji. Er ist erstaunlich trocken und hat viel Würze. Wird aber nicht zu pfeffrig. Ich bin gespannt wie er sich gegen die Fiji Konkurenz im direkten Vergleich macht. Preis/ Leistung stimmt auf jeden Fall.
