Got this sample for free from RumX.
It’s a mix of column and pot still distilled rum that’s aged for 11 years, first for 5 years tropical and then 6 years continental. It has spent 5 years in an ex-bourbon barrel and 5 years in an ex-whisky barrel. Finally it was bottled in 259 bottles at 61,1%.
The aromas is fruity, spicy and alcoholic with hints of bourbon, oak and vanilla.
In mouth and at the palate as well as during the medium long finish the aromas comes back as tastes, but there’s also hints of whisky and chocolate.
Overall an OK rum, but with too strong alcoholic taste, that’s not near Foursquare’s own bottlings.
