Got a sample of this rum for free from RumX.
It’s a pot still distilled Hampden distilled in 1998 whereafter it’s continental aged for 23 years in an ex-Rum barrel before bottled in 255 bottles at 61,9%.
The aromas is fruity, spicy, esters rich and dry with hints of rubber, acetone, tar and petrol.
In mouth and at the palate the aromas comes back as tastes.
The finish is long, dry, esters rich with hints of tar.
Overall a great Hampden HLCF that’s complex, funky and esters rich.
Picture: My emptied sample with a poured glass.

Aromas of fruit, spice, rubber, and tar. The taste is sharp and creamy with rich esters, hints of molasses, and flowers. The long, warming finish leaves a pleasant estery aftertaste. Complex and funky delight.

Thinner, glue, molases and flower in aroma; sharping start, creamy oil body; pleasant warming tail.
