Bologne Réserve Spéciale from Guadeloupe is made from black and red cane. It’s a blend of rums aged for at least 4 years in French oak barrels that have contained Cognac.
The nose is vegetal and fruity with hints of tobacco and chocolate.
In mouth and on the palate as well as during the medium long finish it’s vegetal, fruity and a little oily. I recognize dark chocolate, sweet cane, mango and nougat.
Overall a good Agricole as all rum from the Bologne distillery.

Rhum peu complexe avec alcool très présent. Peu digeste et manque de rondeur. Cela confirme que je ne suis pas du type rhum agricole.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I feel obliged to improve the average rate of rumratings on this one, cause it is a good aged agricole rum. Smooth with personality, on the nose, the pronounced wooden smell perfectly matches the fresh distilled sugar cane and the fruity perfumes. It flows by itself in your pipe with some long warm final hints of dark chocolate and orange. After let it breathing, even better. Don't expect any kind of Barbados or Guatemala rum styles, cause still this sugar cane taste is very strong, like most of the Agricole ones. I enjoy it neat, or sometimes with a little ice cube and a little slice of lime, depending on (my) the weather. Around 40 bocks in supermarket. It worths value.
