This rum, Montebello La Brigade, is a cuvée from the Carrere distillery in Guadeloupe, in collaboration with the Commander of the Gendarmerie forces in Guadeloupe, hence the name.
It’s a blend of two aged rums, 6 and 8 years old aged in American and French oak barrels bottled in just 971 numbered bottles.
The nose is complex, fruity, spicy, sweet and woody with hints of licorice, nuts and vanilla.
In mouth and at the palate it’s fruity and spicy with flavors of candied fruit, cane, resin, cocoa and oak.
The finish is long and a little bitter with flavors of cocoa, raisins and hints of coffee and licorice.
Overall a great Agricole that’s very elegant, smooth and well balanced.
