This rum Artesanal bottling comes from Australia from the Beenleigh distillery. It was made in 2007 in pot style and allowed to mature 10 years tropical and 5 years continental. It was bottled at a cask strength of 67.5% ABV with no additives or filtration. There are 370 bottles.
The nose is somewhat closed and needs a moment. The rum has a great fruity nose. Yellow fruits such as apricots, apples and especially peach dominate here. I get Fruit jam with honey and a hint of herbs and toasted aromas. The fruit comes back on the palate, but this time candied. The roasted aromas are more dominant with burnt sugar and some vanilla and caramel. The whole thing is warm, creamy and concentrated. The alcohol is perfectly integrated and the high ABV is hardly noticeable. The finish is then a bit more woody with light tannins and a nice barrel spice.
I really liked this Bennleigh. Even a little more than the bottling of the Rumclub. The nose is fantastic. A great rum that has integrated the alcohol incredibly well and is therefore not too demanding. The profile may be a bit too monotonous in the long run. But as so often, the complaining is at the highest level
Diese Rum Artesanal Abfüllung kommt aus Australien aus der der Beenleigh Brennerei. Er wurde 2007 im Pott Style hergestellt und durfte 10 Jahre tropisch und 5 Jahre kontinental reifen. Er wurde in einer Fassstärke von 67,5% Alkohol ohne Zusatzstoffe oder Filtration abgefüllt. Es gibt 370 Flaschen.
Die Nase ist etwas verschlossen und benötigt einen Moment. Der Rum hat eine tolle fruchtige Nase. Hier dominieren gelbe Früchte wie Aprikose, Apfel und vor allem Pfirsich. Fruchtmarmelade mit Honig und einem Hauch Kräuter und Röstaromen. Am Gaumen kommen die Früchte wieder, aber dieses mal kandiert. Die Röstaromen sind dominanter mit gebranntem Zucker und etwas Vanille und Karamel. Das ganze ist warm, cremig und konzentriert. Der Alkohol perfekt eingebunden und der hohe ABV kaum merkbar. Der Abgang ist dann etwas holziger mit leichten Tanninen und einer schönen Fass Würze.
Dieser Bennleigh hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Sogar etwas mehr als die Abfüllung vom Rumclub. Die Nase ist fantasisch. Ein toller Rum der den Alkohol unfassbar gut eingebunden hat und daher nicht zu sehr fordert. Das Profil ist dabei auf dauer evtl. etwas zu eintönig. Aber wie so oft ist das Meckern auf höchstem Niveau.
