A rum from R.L. Steale at the Foursquare Distillery in Barbados. A 12 year single blended rum with no added sugar, flavour or artificial colour aged in American bourbon barrels. It has a medium mahogany colour and a light nose. It is well balanced with a bit of spice but quite smooth sipped neat. 40% abv, Batch #1218. $80 at LCBO
I was on the fence about trying this one after reading the reviews, but finally decided to give it a try. If I had to rate it right out of the bottle it would be lower. I inadvertently let this one sit in the glass for 30 minutes while I was distracted. When I got around to trying it I was pleasantly surprised. Not to overbearing or sweet and very smooth. A nice sipper. Tried another glass without the wait and it was good but not quite like the first. Give it a try but let it sit a while.
I'm generally not a fan of rum aged in bourbon, but this is nice because it still has a touch of rum sweetness (though I wouldn't mind a little more sweetness).
Tastes and smells of oak, bourbon, caramel, a light spice, and smoke. Very smooth. A great rum for the money.
Naturally sweet (that means no added sugar), smooth, and full of oak and bourbon overtones. This is one of Foursquare's finest. It's 180 degrees away from all the sugared rums that are so popular around here. It's really good...and it's already so smooth that you don't need to add ice or water. Best enjoyed neat.

I like this one. Hard to find. Good as a sipper and good for Tiki Drinks.
I know this is only 40 ABV, but boy is it delicious. Makes the best Corn n’ Oil. No lime or bitters needed.
For $45 it's amazing. On the nose I get light and bright fruits, with an odor of char and bite. The taste finished medium with many different flavor profiles: I get a typical Barbados rum thatnis fruity and bright with sweet and bitter notes. I get the deeper bourbon taste and char from the oak barrels. This is a good mix of sweet and bright, bitter and dark char, shirt and middle finishes.
Mature tropical fruits, demerara sugar, oak and baking spices
"The Real McCoy 12-Year rum review by a Mountain of Crushed Ice"
Has some very Bourbon like sweet/sour like notes.
"It is rich, intense and quite spicy. Very oaky yet not overly dry."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I was really happy with this 12 year McCoy. Brought a smokiness I haven't experienced much. Excellent bottle for sure.
