A blend from 3 different worlds. Cuban's rum, Venezuelan's rum (solera) and caroni. The result is magnificent at every point of view. On the smell (lime, vanilla and already the caroni that shows up) and in the mouth, with a very smooth attack and a predominance of the citrus fruits (orange, grapefruit) and still backed up by the vanilla. A delight. The only fault that can be found is the 42% "only".
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

First Velier blend so a part of history, original Caroni which I can taste, Cuban rum, and Venezuela. Purchased as a collectible old rum at a premium price. It is a unique blend never had anything quite like it. Light gold color, easy nose, has an unusual perfume like lingering flavor. First I must say I’m not a big Caroni fan, but I only taste it on initial sip. It’s a good first blend by anyone’s standards and if $50-$70 bottle it would be fine. Likely what it started out as. But for current after market pricing I would not buy it again.
