This guatemala rum from sugar cane has really sweet smell, smooth body and warm aftertaste. Taste sugar, chocolate and oak wood in perfect combination.
A mild smell, too much alcohol at first, maybe brown sugar with a bit of chocolate? Some fruity notes in the taste with a hint of chocolate and honey. A tad drier than some of the other rums I tasted but smooth with a very warm finish. The aftertaste let's it down a bit for me.
Someone mentioned it is supposed to be similar to Zacapa but I personally do not think these would be too similar when it comes to aroma or taste but the truth is, both play in the same league. Personally, I think this one is even better at almost half the price.
Will not be my absolute favourite but definitely deserves some attention and not a bad choice at all for those who are looking for a bit drier, reasonably priced rum.
Hade höga förväntningar på denna. Men var väldigt smaklös, känner lite vanilj och frukt, men ingen eftersmak, försvinner direkt i munnen. Tråkigt.
Both the smell and the taste are pleasantly fruity. The dry ending is less fun
Like the sweetness in the nose and mouth, it's smooth. I like it, is thinking about trying the 20 YO as well.
On the nose extremely rich and sweet with raisins, vanilla and some prominent coconut among the flavors of the palate.
Lots of sweetheart shortly after intake, with cream caramel and honey.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

First time I opened the bottle I was a little bit disappointed, too much cacao. The very next day I leaved the bottle for a minute open to let the rum breath and the magic happened.
It is made from sugar cane and you can definitely smell it. At the beginning very sweet caramel aroma and then strong vanilla note I really like it. After this you can smell a hint of spiciness and okayness. At the end you can catch a little bit of nut or smoky aroma, but very little. In generally it is very aromatic and complex aroma.
The taste is less complex at the beginning rather sweet, very quickly it change to cacao and to very dry and oaky finish that last long for its age, anyway it feels and taste very well. The alcohol taste is present after the sweetness and stays with the oak taste and then fades very fast.
I have needed to try it twice to enjoy it, but now I really like it very much and I recommend this rum for every rum beginner.
