Pusser's Select Aged 151 Green Label 3-Year

This one is a blend of rum from Guyana at 75,5%.
There’s as far as I know two older versions of the Overproof.
The oldest on with a blue label at 75% is a blend of rum from Guyana and Trinidad.
Thereafter they released a green label at 75% with a blend of rum from Guyana, Trinidad and Barbados which I believe went quite short lived.
In nose as well as on the palate and during the rather long finish the burnt Demerara sugar dominates, but it’s also possible to detect toffee and hints fruits and coffee. Besides this it’s quite spicy with some sweetness.
Overall I think it’s balanced and smooth. The big difference between this one and the Green Label 75% is that the Demerara impacts even more and that it’s a little bit less round in taste.

extremely strong, but considering the 75%, the taste of alcohol is not as overwhelming as one might think, instead it boosts all the flavors in this rum, making it very enjoyable.

Rum se destiluje celkem na pěti destilačních zařízeních v Guyaně a Trinidadu, odkud také pochází cukrová třtina. Zrání probíhá v tropech minimálně 3 roky ve vypálených sudech po bourbonu.
Select 151 Overproof se lahvuje v sudové síle tak, jak se v sudech posílal do centrálních skladů Britského královského námořnictva. Sklady byly v Deptfordu, Gosportu a Devonportu. Tam se také rum míchal a ředil na sílu "proof" čili 54,5%.
Aroma: Velmi štiplavé v nose - síra, skořice, slanost, pražené ořechy, opálené dřevo.
Chuť: Nálož dřeva, koření a velmi hořké čokolády. Pachuť síry je také stále znát.
Dozvuk: Opět pachuť síry a pekanové ořechy se dřevem, % jsou nekompromisní a brutálně pálí. Dlouhý.
Sladkost: 0/3
Ochutnán vzorek
Nad Gunpowderem jsem si pomlaskával, tady vůbec. Nepříjemná pachuť síry prostupuje úplně celým rumem.

Another very generous gift from a dear friend, this time for a big birthday.
It didn't last long, I remember that much.

6:On the nose, lots of power and a good dose of caramel. This rum needs to be approached with care, as the alcohol blocks the aromas a little. It's also a very powdery nose, with a flinty quality, as if two flints had been struck while heating. One might even think of gunpowder just exploded. One also thinks of something metallic, heavy and coppery, which gradually leads us towards oxidized fruits (apple/plum) in compote, even BBQ.
Aeration calms the Beast a little, it's quite violent and even more coppery. The nose is quite tight, both literally and figuratively, still powerful and powdery. With a lot of rest, at least 15 minute, it takes on notes of fermented VEGETABLE, some HERBAL notes, but above all roasted nuts-6,5.
6,5:The attack on the palate has never been so aptly named: intense, coppery, dry and armored. Sorry for the non-technical term, but it's hot stuff, and the taste buds are hyperstimulated! The powder takes on a cocoa-like quality, burnt sugar, notes of fermentation, herbs and copper intermingle, and power returns in devastating waves. A little prune passes through the eye of the storm. It's worth noting, however, that this rum is well made, for although it's extremely powerful, you don't feel the aromas of alcohol.
7:The finish is marked by sherry-like notes of oxidation, nuts and prunes.
