I expected sweet and was surprised when I got Dry, smooth, with delicious barrel aged flavors.
OK for sipping but I wouldn't blame someone for mixing it...
Similar to my Barbancourt 15, this is one of my favorite "sippables" in this price range....
If you have the room in your personal rum bar, this one is worth having...
This rum has no character or depth to it. There is nothing harsh about it - at least on the rocks. There is nothing really off putting. But there is also nothing at all that stands out in the least. Dry and very little sweetness which I do not mind at all but something is really missing and it is hard to say exactly what it is. I have tried a handful of rums from the D.R. and they are just all a disappointment except for Matusalem 18 which is a fine rum. Even Opttimus 25 was nothing spectacular. My D.R. rum journey has probably finished with this rum except for Matusalem 18 which I will buy again.
This is a very nice rum for the money. It's my go to rum together with Doorlys 12 year old for a good rum for the right price. Nice sipper neat, but also good with a cube of ice. Not too sweet, caramel, vanilla, nice tropical notes. Recommended.
packaging is very attracting which makes it good for a present but taste is not well balanced. alchool is dominant. not recommended to those after sweet and fruity taste. overall decent but not one of those i'd buy it again, i'd get 2 bottles of pampero aniversario for the price of one of this.
Not my style, quite fruity. It has a character. Did not enjoy sipping it.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Good sipping rum. Not too sweet, good mouth feel. Bourbon drinkers looking for alternate sippers would enjoy this.
