This is from Rolling Fork's "Cocktail Proof" line. I had high hopes. Unfortunately, they were dashed with one sniff and one taste.
A nice light, golden colored Jamaican. This could be good! It sure looks great in the bottle and that's what prompted me to buy it.
On the nose this rum went straight to, "Nail polish remover." Not funky, and not fun either. Nail polish remover. No molasses, no bananas, no burnt sugar, no sugar at all and not much funk... unless you consider paint thinner to be, "Funk" you're going to be disappointed.
First taste yields more of the same from the nose... it tastes medicinal. The nail polish remover is the start of the tasting for me. It slowly morphed into something hinting at cinnamon and ginger snap and that faded away quickly. The paint thinner/nail polish remover taste came back on the finish.
I'll not be buying another bottle of this.
