Good rum from madeira. Colour is quite dark. Tasty but not so smooth. Great for making poncha. Not so great for sipping.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Rhum 970 is an Agricole produced by Engenhos do Norte in Madeira.
This vintage, 2010, is possible to find at at least two different agings after what I’ve found out. One is 8yo and bottled in 2018 and one is 11yo bottled in 2021. Which one you buy or have can be read on the backside label.
It’s the latter one I review here.
The aroma is quite intense and burnt rubber dominates but it’s also a little bit spicy and fruity.
In mouth, at palate and during the medium long finish it tastes very much like the described aromas above, but I also detect some vanilla together with some sweetness.
Overall an quite interesting rum that could have been even better at an higher ABV.
