The Rumclub Private Selection Edition 19 Secret Distillery is an Agricole VSOP from an unnamed distillery. I have read that it is probably a La Favorite. The rhum was produced in 2017 in the Creole Column Still and was allowed to mature in tropical oak barrels for four years. The Single Cask was bottled in 371 bottles at cask strength of 53.9% alcohol with no additives, sugar or filtration.
The rhum has a wonderful Agricole nose. Clear grassy notes and dried tropical fruit. Light wood and a nice spice. But also sweet, candied flavors. Everything is very balanced. The first thing on the palate is the grass. There it is a little more like hay. Herbs and spices. The rum becomes more earthy and floral. But you find also candied dried fruit. The finish is all about the Agricole notes. Some wood with lots of spice, herbs and grass. The whole thing is nice and dry and lasts indefinitely.
A great Agricole, which surprised me very positively. The herbal notes, the earthy and the endless finish make the rum a pleasure. The whole thing could be drawn a little clearer and a little less sweet. Very close to a 10/10. Just Great.

Der Single Cask wurde ohne Zusatzstoffe, Zucker oder Filtration in Fassstärke von 53,9% Alkohol in 371 Flaschen abgefüllt.
Der Rhum hat eine wunderbare Agricole Nase. Deutliche grassige Noten und getrocknete tropische Frucht. Leichtes Holz und eine schöne Würze. Aber auch süße, kandierte Aromen. Alles sehr ausgewogen. Am Gaumen wieder als erstes das Gras. Etwas mehr Heu ist dabei. Kräuter und Gewürze. Der Rum wird erdiger und floral. Aber auch kandierte Trockenfrucht. Der Abgang ist ganz im Zeichen der Agricole Noten. Etwas Holz mit viel Würze, Kräuter und Gras. Das ganze ist schön trocken und hält unendlich lange an.
Ein klasse Agricole, der mich sehr positiv überrascht hat. Die Kräuter Noten, das erdige und der endlose Abgang machen den Rum zu einem Genuss. Das ganze könnte etwas klarer gezeichnet sein und etwas weniger süß. Ganz nah dran an einer 10/10. Toll.
