Testing package from Punta Cana. It has a lower voltage but is good. Drink it in Dominican Republic and was good. I like the way how smooth it is on the tongue, with some tones of vanilla little bit. Not sharp alcohol. I like it.
Unique moderate vanilla spice. A bit sweet. Too harsh neat or on the rocks, but nice with coke.
Smells of a combination of sweet and a somewhat potent alcohol smell, with notes of caramel. It’s a sweetened rum, labeled as 96% Ron, and it definitely tastes a bit sweeter than I’m used to with Dominican rums.
Sipping, it’s a bit harsh, with a stronger alcohol taste. Mixed in a Cuba libre, that alcohol taste and smell fades away, and it comes through as a slightly sweet, but very tasty aged rum.
I don’t know if this one will replace Brugal or Barcelo as my go-to Dominican mixers, but it’s a tasty change of pace when I’m in the mood for something a bit sweeter.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Ron Viejo is obviously younger brother of Ron Muy Viejo. Almost same pleasure, but cheaper. Ideal for day to day evening drink.
