This bottle was signed by Master blender Nelson Hernandez.
It is too precious to be opened. Therefore I come back with my humble thought about how it tastes to me as soon as I find a standard bottle. Looking forward.
By the way, all signed bottles were sold out within one hour .
Continuing my rum tastings at the KB Pub I was hesitant to try the 2007 13 year as I did not find the Reserva Exclusive all that good but this rum is really good. It is sweet for sure but stops just before being a sugar bomb with tastes of raisin, caramel with smooth burn. Just a bit thin though and aftertaste was short. Overall though worth a glass or two not the cost of a bottle
En riktigt god, inte för söt rom. Fruktig i smak och en liten hint vanilj.
Rather mild and pleasant honey fruity smell develops into great rum taste yet still remains gentle as one sips this spirit. I can taste vanilla, mild oakiness and raisins combined with some dried fruit (probably wrong, but at one point I even thought it to be dried plum or something). Definitely still on the sweeter side of things, but not really in a bad way. Might even open another one once my current bottle is finished. :)
Smooth and sweet as expected, but really well balanced and more complex than any other Diplomatico I’ve had.
There it is. Diplomatico just doesn't get above an 8 for me. This is probably the best of the bottles I've tried, but it just can't scratch a 9. I'd happily sip this if given the opportunity, but at this price I will not be seeking it out. I think these rums would do better at a higher ABV to really punch up the flavor.

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Great presentation and packaging but it’s always what’s inside that counts. In this case we have a slightly over proof rum at 43% that packs a sweet pleasant taste of Honey and dried fruit, Oak, vanilla and of course Sherry. Nicely balanced taste and the burn is long and smooth. No sharpness in the taste profile, great aroma in the glass. Let it breathe a bit, then give it a swirl in the glass and enjoy.
