Pere Labat Clos Parcellaire Les Mangles

Tasted at Rum Club on 6-17-24. My bottle reads 70.1% abv. Pours clear. CRAZY agricole classic aroma with a chemical ether anesthetic quality to the olfactory lobes. First taste is a bolus of evergreen pine needles. Metallic copper pennies and ambrosia at the same time. Add a few drops of water and a distinct bolus of leather emerges. Flavor now produces strong raspberries. This is insanity in a bottle. Glad to call this perfect 10 my 600th rum rated here. 👏👏👏

Notes: WHAT IS THIS FLAVORBOMB ???
Numbs the inside of the mouth, as it should! I'm debating whether it is white pepper or pink pepper or perhaps it is white pepper with pink Himalayan salt. But there is also rock candy, and it is so good

Pure intense olive brine, ocean, grass. Definitely on the savory side instead of fresh and light. Love it

Les Mangles se nachází v severní části pozemku destilerie Poisson, kde jsou velmi dobré podmínky slunečního svitu a větru. Nafialovělá třtina z této části pozemku je ručně nařezána a převezena do lihovaru, kde probíhá 80hodinová fermentace z vesou. Po destilaci má rum 70,7% alkoholu, který je poté snížen na 53%.
Vyrobeno bylo 3024 očíslovaných lahví.
Aroma: Sladkokyselý lák, rajčatový protlak, olivy. Také závan odlakovače.
Chuť: Úplně jakoby člověk žvýkal seno nebo dýchal senný prach.
Dozvuk: Velmi travnatý s tóny bylinek - výrazný jitrocelový sirup. Delší.

Ochutnán vzorek
Těžko hodnotit - vyloženě špatný rum to není, ale ve srovnání s Père Labat Bio 60% či Clairiny mu výrazně chybí komplexita. Je to jako pít jen travnatý či senný výluh.
