Acheter au hasard en république Dominicaine, ce fut finallement une excellente découverte. Nez de caramel et d'épice, comme l'ont remarqué d'autres, une petite note du porto des fûts. Longueur surprenante pour le prix. Finale épicée. Domage qu'il n' y en ait pas au Québec.

Not as sweet as I am used to, but nothing wrong about this rum, nothing at all...

I like this rum very much. The Oporto reminiscence is a plus and it gives it a great flavor. Always invited to be part of my "active" collection.

First pop reveals a strong nose of vanilla, raisin and burned toffee. Lovely… A hint of apricot and coconut is also coming through. A very pleasant nose, with little burn.

Dark red amber color and thick slow running legs.
In the glass a nose of walnut, toffee, raisin and dried fruits.

Sweet taste. Toffee, raisin, dark chocolate… Longe lasting, smooth taste and rich creamy feeling in the mouth. Beautiful!

I’ve tasted the “little brother” Esplendido… A good mediocre rum from Puntacana, but this is in a whole other league. Beautiful taste from the first pop of the cork. Lovely color and legs, and a wonderful taste. One of the most interesting thing about this rum is the back label with hand written notes. My bottle was 527 of 1000 and bottled in 2015. Makes you imagine how the rum manufactor hand wrote this note, and carefully placed in on the bottle with love and affection. Definitely a keeper in my cabinet.

This is a real good rum, it have a great taste, get it if you can.

Je suis tombé par hasard sur cette bouteille spéciale pour les 50 ans de la maison Oliver (limitee à 1000 bouteilles).

Sur l étiquette est indiqué que la maturation a été finalisée au Portugal dans des fut de porto.

Un excellent goût en bouche et un très bon final. On ressent très bien l odeur subtile du porto.

A goûter absolument si vous en avez l'occasion.
Un excellent rhum donc pour lequel je donne une note de 9/10 !
