Sometimes when many rums (same thing happens to whiskey) are blended together, the nuance and character of the individual components can be lost.
Not the case here. Wow is there a lot going on!
Nose is smoky and musty with a sweet caramel undertone.
The palate follows this up, starting out sweet and transitioning into bright unripe fruitiness.
The finish stays bright and in the high end but incorporates some tannic properties and a bit of funk.
In conclusion, definitely worth a try!
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Went looking for a different local rum, but they were out and the proprietor recommended this one as it had a vanilla flavor, but did not have vanilla added. I caught a little of it straight, certainly sweet, but a bit of a burn. Mixed wasn’t anything special, but I could smell vanilla. I did like the composition of the various rums that were listed on the bottle. Oh, and I believe this could also be listed as the Rum Cooperative Vol. 1.
