My girlfriend entice me into opening this bottle, which was like an investment.
Nose - Strong aromas of herbs, leather, tobacco, some spices, vanilla, caramel, mint and in the background tropical fruit, maybe a little anise. A very unique fragrance for me so far. I think I never had such a complex fragrance before.
Taste - a strong kick of bitter herbs at the beginning followed by strong pepper. Tobacco, leather, black tea. After a while it starts to sweeten in the mouth and I can smell some vanilla, caramel and a lot of fruit. It reminds me a bit of A.H. Riise La Galante, but 5 levels better.
At the end, notes of sweet sugar candies with coffee or chocolate begin to permeate. A very long finish that lingers in the mouth.
This rum is absolute masterpiece compared to others I had. 50 ABV is not felt at all. Very richfull rum. One of the richest palettes of flavor I've had. Too bad these flavors aren't my favorite group so I wouldn't buy the bottle again but I have to give it an honest and fair 10 points.
