The Bellamy's Reserve Perola 10th Anniversary Edition is a 12-year blend from Barbados, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic. It was stored in old High Ester barrels and then bottled with 47.3% drinking strength. The rum has 15.3 g/l sugar. It is limited to 430 bottles.
The nose is characterized by the high Barbados share. Burnt vanilla, caramel, oak are there. But also fruit resonates and the Jamaican rum shows itself discreetly in the background. It makes the nose more complex. On the tongue, the 47.3% are very direct without having a task. There are sweet notes such as vanilla and toffee. There are also clearly recognizable fruit and wood notes. In the end, more fermented fruit notes come with a slight bitter wood note at the End.
The rum is not quite tangible for me. He seems to need the added sugar to keep the balance at all. The High Ester barrel has not enough impact. It resonates with something "old" without having a "wow" effect. Overall not bad. But not very good either. Solid 6/10.

Die Nase ist geprägt durch den hohen Barbados Anteil. Gebrannte Vanille, Karamel, Eiche sind vordergründig. Aber auch Frucht schwingt mit und der Jamaika Rum zeigt sich dezent im Hintergrund. Er macht die Nase vielschichtiger. Auf der Zunge zeigen sich die 47,3% sehr direkt ohne eine Aufgabe zu haben. Es kommen süße Noten wie Vanille und Toffee. Es ist auch deutlich Obst und Holz Noten erkennbar. Zaghaft kommen am Ende mehr vergorene Fruchtnoten die mit einer leichten bitteren Holznote den Abgang gestalten.
Der Rum ist für mich nicht ganz greifbar. Er scheint den beigefügten Zucker zu brauchen um überhaupt die Balance zu halten. Das High Ester Fass ist für mich eher wenig präsent. Es schwingt etwas "Altes" mit, ohne dass es einen "Wow" Effekt hat. Insgesamt nicht schlecht. Aber auch nicht besonders gut. Glatte 6/10.
