El Salvador | Aged | 55.5% ABV | Pot and Column Still
Ron Colón Salvadoreño Dark Aged Rum is made with a base of 6-year-old column-distilled rum sourced from Licorera Cihuatán distillery in El Salvador. Small additions of unaged Jamaican rums sourced from Worthy Park, Hampden and Monymusk, as well 3-year-old rum from Worthy Park estate bring a rich flavour experience. The Dark Aged rum is a full-bodied style, with plenty of bright banana and pineapple fruit notes, a touch of funk and warm spices. Can be enjoyed neat on its own as a sipping rum, or as the base of cocktails.

7,7/10
This is a very nice rum that has a good Jamaican nose and taste.
Funky stuf with lots of tropical fruits, malaga raisins, and some earthy tones.
This aged rum has a very clear color, not as dark like most aged rums
despites that it has a very nice taste to it.
Also nice bottle and label designs
High proof is very noticable but doesn’t give the flavour a boost but rather the alcohol taste lingers. Has some funk and nice flavours in it but they do not synergize, which leaves me with a bad aftertaste. Had to mix it with some sweet (fernandes) and sour (lime), something I never do with a good rum, to somewhat enjoy it. Not for me this one.
Somewhat aggressive on the nose. The taste is similar to the red and green label, just without the coffee. Nice, smooth finish that lingers. Overall it’s ok but not one I’ll keep on hand.
If you like higher alcohol rums, this is just OK. I personally don't care for the extra burn so this isn't for me. The best rum in the quarterly RR tasting was the Mount Gay by far. Please send more like that.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

A little bit of a caramel and brown sugar on the nose, followed by a hot burn on the palate. Best used for cocktails.
