this one has to be tried to be believed, its so packed full of fruit and spices... best neat over ice.. let it melt a little and the glass comes alive. leaves a wealth of flavours lingering in the mouth
On the nose:
Immediate notes of medicinal herbs, some sweet vanilla together with ethanol. There is also a strong note of some kind of citrus, I'd say something between lemon and grapefruit, perhaps going towards ripe banana.
On the tongue:
Immediate strong medicinal, reminding me of Jaegermeister. Giving away to cloves and a modest ethanol bite on the tongue. The taste is less complex then the nose.
Subjective opinion:
It is a nice drink to have meat, but I wouldn't buy a bottle for that, mixing I'd would probably pair it with ginger ale instead of anything else but I haven't tried that.
Sweet and lots of spices, just the way I like it. Probably my favorite spiced rum.
7,5:The nose of this spiced rum does not betray its promise. Lots of cinnamon at first, then cardamom. These spices are very fresh and give a fairly natural impression. There's also a very pastry-like quality: the almond is reminiscent of a frangipane cake, and the spices evoke a Christmas cake or cinnamon rolls. The spices are melted into the liquid, giving the impression of a real infusion. An infusion of ginger in this case, or a herbal tea with lime leaf and lemongrass.
Aeration doesn't fundamentally alter the nose, except that the roundness of vanilla is now apparent. Cardamom predominates, as do lime leaf and ginger. This cocktail rum is thus naturally reminiscent of the ginger ale-based Dark and stormy.
7,5:The attack on the palate is soft and sweet, but of course spicy. The same cocktail of spices is present as on the nose, but the impression is less fresh, darker, and the slightly woody rum character is now more pronounced. Cinnamon and cardamom still lead the way, and the cake is now more baked and caramelized. The rum begins to fade, leaving pepper and cola in its wake.
7,2:The finish continues with a pepper/cola duo reminiscent of a famous soda.
By far my favourite spiced rum. Complex, warming and the Navy strength version packs a punch.
Well this was really a quite pleasant surprise.
I have tried it as a neat sipper rum 3 or so times and it never worked for, just could not enjoy.
So I chucked in a couple of blocks of ice and let sit for a while and it's a whole new rum.
On the nose it also smells like an aniseed flavour, that's my first smell.
As a taste it comes out as cinnamon with an orange flavour.
It works as either a mixer or on the rocks, if in the rocks I had to let sit for a while to get the run to open up.
Would.be my favourite spiced rum by a mile. Can drink it as a session rum or on the rocks as a sipper.
8 is as high as I go for this as I did find that it occasionally did not appeal as much as it should, you still enjoyed the rum but felt its definitely a rum you have to be in the mood to drink.
Warming spices, rich caramel, full bodied, pleasant drinking
If you like spicy sweet dark rum, than this you're bottle.
Spiced Ginger Orange is how it tastes.
"Nose is very strong with wafts of orange zest."

I was really looking forward to taste this, but don't like the spice that is REALLY dominant.
