This rum is good. Very good. It’s smooth and easy. My only knock on it is after trying funky Jamaican rums it’s almost too easy to drink. It’s easily accessible in NC liquor stores which is a huge plus.
Nose is smooth, slightly sweet and vanilla. Palate is strong vanilla, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
Great rum, especially as an entry sipper
Really tasty, no after effects. Found it in the Caribbean.
Slight gingerbread hint with a nice sweetness. Also a bit of vanilla at the back which I'm a big fan of.
Just not my thing, it's nice but that's it.
Not a sipper but it's good with a mixer.
Finally found an affordable unsweetened rum for sipping. Still has a little bit of harshness but that's fine with me
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Be careful of this little one.... You might empty the bottle faster than expected. Sipped neat, strong alcohol and is mildly unpleasant to start - let it breathe and the alcohol subsides just a little but honestly not enough to be pleasant. Oak and vanilla begin to appear but for me the improvement is to minimal to want to sip this neat. Water softens the initial waft but still not pleasant. Mixed with coke - now this is another match made in heaven. Flavours of oak, vanilla and sugarcane dominate. This is wonderful and I can see it becoming another Mt Gay regular added to the "regulars" list of easy dinking rums. It lacks the additional complexity of the XO but it is a younger sibling. I have scored this an 8 because its just damn wonderful as a mixed rum and my palate clearly resonates with the Bajan and Mt Gay rum style but disappointed with my inability to appreciate it neat which would elevate this to a 9. Highly recommend this to all.
