This was a drink offering. I let it open up for a few minutes and it exhibited subtle banana and spice notes. You get some funk but it is not overpowering. The color is amber and clear. I enjoyed it and can't wait to try making a cocktail with it.
Great rum, featuring the famous Jamaican funk. It was love at the first sip. I've had other Jamaican rum before (Plantation) and I thought I wasn't a big fan of the funk, but this bottle completely changed my mind. Looking forward to tasting the 21yo soon.
9,5:On the nose, we have Jamaican markers combined with sweetness: ether, glue, vanilla, orange, grapes, plums, mango, banana, passion fruit and walnut. The whole is complex, yet easy to drink. Very tempting...
9:On the palate, the attack is supple without being sweet.Notes from the nose are present, some caramel added. A certain woodiness accompanies vanilla and orange peel. The whole is not devoid of vivacity.
8,5:The fairly long vanilla-dominated finish reveals a touch of cocoa, some black tea.
Well rounded, nose great, but finish-Still very good, not on its level.
Great rum at a great price, pleasant banana notes and one of my go-to sippers. Bravo Appleton!
Bardzo złożony - są i nuty beczki (wanilia, dębina), i cukier trzcinowy, melasa, nieco kakao. Finisz długi, słodycz przełamana nutami drewna. Całość zbalansowana, nuty słodkie przełamane tanicznymi. Bardzo dobry.
I find this rum very smooth but it hits hard...also it's very oaky but with some hint of vanilla which helps a bit.
Lovely overripe fruit, toffee, caramel notes. Esters are not overpowering. A great example of a Jamaican pot still rum.
Nice dark gold in color. Almonds and caramelized nuts on the nose. A bit spicy at first on palate, then turns to mellow fruits and sugary notes. Taste lingers long time with a oak and spicy end.
Appleton 12 Year is great in a Mai Tai blend, a staple for cocktails, and good enough to enjoy neat. You get more oakiness from the age, but there's still a mild funkiness that will come through in a mixed drink.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Nice fruity-oaky taste which warms up your heart. Recommended for the view with the setting sun.
