Since no one has reviewed this rum as of yet, I figured that I would give it a fair shot. The company has only been in business for 10 months out of Gonzales LA on the eastern side of the state capital. In other words, plenty of premium sugar cane to choose from in making this rum. However, the finest ingredients are not everything when one does not know the proper distillation methods. Anyone who has tried to make their own rum and failed will tell you that there are lots of little tricks along the way. This company needs to do more research into the methods of rum distillation. It is not a bad white rum, just only average. A bit too much burn even for me who sometimes drinks 151 rum straight. Although, not bad at all for a small start up distillery.
Update about one week later October 14, 2020: Since this was the lowest rated rum of my new acquisitions even at my rating of 6, it fell into my designation of "get this stuff out of my sight". In other words it is a mixer for fruit juices. So I split half the remaining bottle for two different tropical nectar 50% mixtures: guava and guanabana. Normally, those nectars could hide any bad sides of a rum. Not this time! Ice cubes were still needed and even some Angostura Bitters. The bad side of this rum still showed it's ugly head. I even pondered lowering my rating to a 5 for my designation to Never Buy Again. However, there were many more that I rated as a 6 and ranked even lower. By the way, this one wound up in the top 45% of all rums that I have reviewed up to this point. That is a real slap in a face for all rums that I have ranked even lower. We keep reviewing to avoid rums like these.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Taste is subjective. I've come here and read poor reviews on a rum and loved it. I've seen other reviews that raved how great one is and I couldn't stand it. With that said, I visited this distillery last weekend and tasted all of their rums including this one. The owners were a delight to visit with and walked me through their selection. This rum wasn't my favorite that they make. I only say that because their spiced, kumquat, satsuma, and fig rums are a 10 in my book! Still, this is a very good rum! Its worth a try to see for yourself. I didn't feel the need to mix it. A little ice opens it up for a great sipping rum.
