Privateer American Amber

Privateer American Amber rum, a Grade A molasses- and real boil brown sugar-based rum that is distilled once in a pot still and then again in a pot/column hybrid still. It’s then proofed to 110 proof and aged two to four years in new American oak, used rum, used bourbon, or used brandy barrels. Before bottling, various barrels are selected for the batch, vatted according to the recipe for that batch, proofed down to 100 proof, and then placed in third or fourth use barrels for four to eight months.
