I tried this at a notorious low lit bar in Long Beach. It's all about the bottle, the rum inside isn't all that bad though thin. Unremarkable and definitely nothing to write home about. It's a down the middle rum, not sweet nor dry and grassy cane notes were what I took away from the pour.
Notes of coffee, chocolate and cinnamon and a finish of cloves, anise and caramel.
I've tried a few Rums from Mexico and was not impressed, but this one is really pretty good. Nice flavour, seems a bit dry like a dry wine. I drank it straight and enjoyed it from start to finish. I thought the bottle was the thing and the rum might be terrible but both are a good conversation starter. Maybe the best bottle in the business to give your bar some character.
Hübsche Flasche, Geruch erinnert stark an Tequila und Pflaume. Geschmacklich ist er ok, wenn der Merketinggag des Schrumpfkopfs nicht wäre würde ich ihn mir nicht kaufen.
Frankly! That's the reason I bought it anyway. No better than a big plastic bottle of the cheap rum on the bottom shelf.
Sehr coole Flasche macht was her. Geruch und erster Geschmack ist Traube.
I HAVE A FEW BOTTLES OF THIS IN MY OWN TIKI BAR. IT IS SMOOTH AND MIXES WELL.
I had to try this when I saw the bottle and ,although I don't have a lot of experience, from what I've tried, its the best so far.

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

As with all rums that come in novelty bottles, I wasn't expecting much (especially after being burned by the $45 usd Pumpkin Face "Premium" white rum...).
I expected to have a few sips with some rum imbiber friends, have a few laughs at those few sips, then dump the rest of the bottle in a summertime Punch/Sangria at the next family BBQ and then just keeps the bottle as a display piece for the next TIKI night.
What I found was a NICE lightly spiced rum that is easy to drink.
Okay, that being said, I know it won't replace the Appleton Estate Exclusive or the Dos Maderas Luxus as my top 2 sipping rums, but I won't be hiding it from my guests that know I'm a serious rum amateur either.
I has a well marked pepperiness that will make (daytime) cocktails linger in your mouth without overpowering all the other ingredients; it's slightly sweet but not syrupy ; it was a hint of sugar cane but reminds me more of Cachaça than something made with molasses.
All in all, not a bad rum ...and it even comes in a pretty remarkable container.
