It's definitely better than the usual bogan firewater but still not something you'll be savouring.
I purchased this after reading it won the 2020 Wolrds best spiced rum. I was very quickly disappointed after the first taste. It wasn’t smooth as other incredible Rums I’ve tasted, but most important was the terrible finish. I can’t describe the taste it was just like the smell of a chemical solvent! Sadly this one is going down the drain.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

A local spiced rum from Rockhampton in Queensland. Its 38% and presented very well in a nice square bottle with a cork ! Pale straw in colour and no sugar has been added.. On the nose its slightly astringent with a unfortunate Bunderburg U.P smell.. im guessing it must be in all Queensland molasses ? Luckily it tastes better than it smells. Quite dry and thin unlike most spiced rums. Zesty and spicey in the mouth with a good bit of warmth.. but the best part was the finish , i got liquorice or aniseed on the throat , very nice. Not a sipper for me but nice with lime and ginger beer plus an ice cube.
