One of the very best rhums of the world. Great value
Filled with so many different spices that gather in your Mouth
I've had a lot of rum in my time. I've ambled through the mount gays, Fleur de canas and Appleton's. Once I hit my old age, I needed something more refined. Appleton's Joy is a fine drop, as is the Cubaney 30. However, la Flibuste is in a class of its own. I was able to import some via martinque-Australia-usa. Not easy. Neither were the Aussie duties. One does not merely drink la Flibuste. La Flibuste dances on the tongue, flirts with the senses, and covers you in a warm dark velvet curtain. Close your eyes and this temptress takes you to faraway places in the Carribbean that evoke the virtues and shortcomings of it's namesake times. Addiction is immediate and lifelong. I just wish they produced more than 5k litres a year.
C'est une folie très marqué sur le bois qui s'adoucit au fur et à mesure on passe par de l'abricot bien mûr voir compté puis du pruneau. un poil trop sur le bois.
There are still these old rum agricole which can fill a whole evening! An incredible discovery in roasted aromas, coffee, mocha, old woods, slightly dry but very intense and sxhwer. Nothing for beginners.... just because of the price of such a bottle if you can still get it!
Although the purists may blame this rum for being arranged (spices are added and I got confirmation at the distillery), this rum is very good. It is quite easy to appreciate, very much about candied fruit, cinnamon. An excellent rum that is the junction between agricultural AOC and molasses rums.
I was lucky enough to be able to buy two bottles of this from the Boutique at the distillery.
I was fully expecting it to be stupidly expensive, given the unusually high ratings this rum (rhum) has garnered on here, but it was surprisingly cheap at the equivalent of £110 per bottle, once exchange rates are taken into account.
The idea was that I would get two bottle so I could drink one and sell the other on Ebay, but apparently, that's not allowed. I'm half way through the first bottle now and I'm thinking that unless I get a generous offer, I'll just keep it for myself.
I haven't quite figured this rum (rhum) out yet.
Whilst at he distillery, I tasted their young white rum, Coeur de Cann and found it interesting, but not really terribly enjoyable ... I'm in no particular rush to try it again.
La Flibuste , however is possibly the most unusual rum (rhu... you get the point) I have tasted so far.
I'm finding it difficult to describe the notes I get either on the nose or in the mouth ... there's definitely cognac, bourbon and ... bear with me here ... cola nut. The sweetness comes from demerara and treacle. I feel that there is oak there, but it is masked by something I can't quite put a name to.
The single most impressive thing about this rum is the amount of time you taste it for, after swallowing. It goes on for literally hours.
I kinda feel about this rum, the same way I felt about the novels of WIlliam S. Burroughs ... I don't really understand it, but I definitely know I want to explore it further in the vain hope that I will "get" it.
I haven't tried it with a cigar ... it doesn't feel like the right thing to do.
The only thing I know for sure is that once I take the last sip of a glass, I am finding it exceedingly difficult to not pour another.
If you get the chance, you should definitely try this stuff, if for no other reason than you can help me understand it.
Tout simplement parfait il faut absolument le gouter
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

zvláštní, tráva, tráva, tráva a pak zase tráva, dlouhý dojezd, do těchto chutí jsem ještě nedorostl
