This is only the 2nd rum I am rating but I decided to start with quality. After reading all these comments about this rum I ordered a 1997' to try it. Let me tell you that this is pure heaven. I love the delicate taste of liquorice and vanilla. It stays long in the mouth and you just want to have some more. I could not describe it but the notes of oak made me traveling to the Caribbean, in a small empty shed. It reminded me the time I was living and working on islands. It is a ticket to the tropics in any way.
Colour: very dark and consistent
Aroma: you know it’s the one! Beautiful combination of can sugar , honey, vanilla, chocolate
Body taste : an explosion of goodness
Finish: persistency of smoky and vanilla
Score 9,80 (can’t give 10 cause I am sure out there there must be something better but for now this is the best.
Comments : remarkable rum. Stopped buying It for my collection when it hit 250 a pop for the latest release. Only available in France and Martinique, or at some “double the price” London shops . Very hard to find, treasure hunt!
Great rhum agricole, very complex and mature. Awesome sipper!
No words, yust WOOOOOW! They make only 100 bottles each year.
BUY IT NOW!
An amazing rhum so well balanced and with so much flavors, plums, cinnamon, almonds. Lovely thick a little oily and buttery but in a good way.
Brought back from the Caribbean by a friend - enjoyed small glass - best rum I’ve ever tasted
Agricoles are usually not high up on my list. But this one is spectacular. Dripping with complexity, almost chewy. I’d go as far as saying it has rancio-like qualities. If you get a chance just try it. It’s worth it.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I got 2017 edition. Keeps a quality of its predecessors.
I find a same aromas like vanilla, bananas and combinationt of spices.
Don’t worry, you find some sweetness in it. On the whole it presents a fine unity.
