We have a Plantation night and this is currently next to Fiji. It is more subtle than Fiji but that one is still blowing our socks off
Tasted this after a dinner at Såstaholm castle outside Stockholm. I think it had a tinted, spicy taste with distinct barrel character and slight sweetness. I think I can recognize hints of dried apricots, cinnamon, sultan raisin, marzipan, arrack and orange. I’m not a fan of independent bottlers so I will not buy me a bottle, but it’s definitely an OK rum for those who does.

Sampled on 6-26-24 at the Lake Loon Kill Devil Rum Club tasting event hosted by Adrienne Stoner of Planteray Rums. Pours a light gold color. Has a bourbon-like sweetness up front. This is very wine-like as well. Strong surge of almonds. Almost a cyclamate-level of sweetness. Fantastic lemon flavors to the finish. Wow!
It is realy good stuff, almost fantastic. I like it. I want to back to it, and drink one more dram.
Lovely bottle and box
In the glass: golden, surprisingly light for 11 years in barrel
Nose: honey & apricots, a hint of fermenting pineapple
Mouth: initial fight between sugar and sharp alcohol hit, despite only 40%. This slowly makes way for a good mouthful of sweet fruit aromas, a hint of bitterness and very restrained funk
Sweetness 4/5
Throat: quite a sharp burn, moderate length of finish
Summary: it is quite good fun but overcome by the dosage. I would have expected more funky fruit aromas and personally find it far too sweet.
Spændene Trinidad Rum fra Plantation. Jeg syntes den er god
Well balaced, strong. Golden color, vanillin tone.
This Plantation is really pricey for what you’ll get. I’ll definitely get it again.
Nuanced, spicy taste with a clear barrel character and a little sweetness, hints of dried apricots, cinnamon, sultan raisin, marzipan, arrack and orange.
Bottle: 700ml
Alcohol: 42%
Sugar content: 19g/l
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

This rum is 11 years old and the price of this rum is just hilarious. Especially when you like the sweet n spicy rums. I have bought/seen rums with only 3 years age for the same price..
Basically this is just a good rum with a good price. Buy it if you can find it. It’s basically gone in Sweden for the moment.
