What to get in Costa Rica
Hi all
I am in Costa Rica very soon. I have budget of 200-300 USD. What are good bottles to get that are pretty available. Also what are some local bottles that I can really only get in Costa Rica?
I think there is a special aged bottle that you can only get at Duty free airport on exit, I've had it its excellent, but I forget what its called. Typically the 30 year Centenario is a great choiceÂ
If your a USA citizen don't skip on the Havana Club? In the states the H.C. is D.R. rum not Cuban. And my favorite!
Just a quick update on my trip:
I went mostly with centenario bottles. I never ended up getting the 30 year, but I got a 25 and 12 year, as well as some other 5 and 7 years for gifts. I never ended up getting the Havana Club because I already have a few bottles, and it seems only the 7 year is in Costa Rica, and the seven year is not my favorite HC.
It's the Centenario Real. Best they have made. I think you can only get it at airport leaving or on a rum auction.Â
