Spirit drinks that have nothing to do with rums...
Hello, just a general question - should we also rate some cheap spirit drinks that have nothing in common with real sugar cane rums? For instance here in Slovakia (also in Czech republic) there are drinks that were also called "rums" long time ago (now we have to respect EU rules so they are named "Ums" - cos everyone knows these are just their successors) but those are still made from potatoes etc. I would definitely scratch them off this database... I attach one example for all:

Well it depends on us what we rate... And if people want to provide the ratings I'd keep it to warn the others with low ratings. On the other hand, clearly, non-cane-based spirits are defenetely not rums and a professional rum site should be clear about this fact.
There is another thing; as regulations about rums are changing over time and are different in various countries there is no way of doing this right for everybody. With the new EU-regulations some spirits are rum by law in the US and not in the EU and I don't have a clue about what the rules are in various countries in Africa or Asia.
Maybe better to leave it as it is so all rums and rum-inspired spirits can be traced here and exposed for what they are.
